Doughlicious: States in Lebanon with an Italian Touch

24/4/2017

Reaching to the Old Souk of Jounieh you can't miss the place with the huge dough maker showing at the entrance and the name of the place I just love it, one of the reasons that encouraged me to try the place. From inside you get good vibes and excellent impressions with the decor and surroundings, positivity flowing all over from owner to staff. For the menu, they have the range of choice & unique items.
I came here with some friends for lunch with our mind is set to try certain items we had one starter, pasta, two pizza, and specialty. To be honest I did not set my expectations very high on important things like food or service. I will give a detailed review of our order then I will give my final opinion.

Our lunch order:
  • For the appetizer we had the poutine with gravy & cheese; it's a combination of crispy fries topped with melting cheese and special gravy. We all loved the first starter the fries crispness was just right, white cheese pieces were tasty and complimented the dish and the gravy was just tip topping cherry on an overall delightful opening to our day.
  •  We had pasta penne rose; it was a tasty dish although the pasta was slightly overcooked but the sauce was enough to enrich the dish and the other ingredients with its flavor. In general, I loved this dish and most importantly it was light for a pasta.
  • For a change, we liked to try their specialty item the pizza cone, for all of us it was definitely not a good choice although the idea is definitely unique but not new to most of us. In a nutshell, I wouldn't recommend.
  • Our first order for a pizza was the Margarita, the dough is good it's somehow a mix of Italian & American crust, the spread was generous and complementing. It was a very tasty pizza and definitely, I  recommend.
  • Second pizza order was the swiss mushroom, the dough same as the margarita but here the spread is way too generous and somehow heavy but in general, it's a tasty pizza especially if you let cool a bit since for a pizza experience its temperature is flaming. I would definitely recommend but give time to cool down and then taste.
On the last note what I enjoyed really here was the positive approach from the staff and the owner Fadi especially he knows his business, cares and passionate about it and most importantly he seeks for perfection and he listens to customers opinions. It was courteous from him not to charge the pizza cones. In general experience of Douglicious is delightful and definitely, a must visit to try the other exciting items.
