The movie was utterly disappointing, the screenplay of this version was weak and choices of the casting was in some roles below par, like the actor who played the villain is lame he strikes me as a follower for the bad guy. And choosing billy character to be Asian to honor Akira Kurosawa probably backfired. Apar from Chris Pratt who was good the rest of the cast was average at most. Also the deaths style of goodnight ,billy, and the big guy were extremely disastrous and unworthy of the magnificent seven name. All of the seven in addition to the villain had big shoes to fill and all except for Chris Pratt who owned the role failed miserably.
It seems appropriate that my debutant review for a restaurant on my official blog is an Armenian restaurant in Hamra street where I'm proud to call my birthplace. When I first entered to Onno Bistro first sight you see is the waiters' smiles welcoming you to a place you feel it will be your second home. First with their introduction it's the only Termus which some might find as cheap of them, but for me especially when you try their Mezza cold or hot even the average ones you know they want you to have taste of all the outrageously excellent plates from mouthwatering sausages with Debes el reman to out of this universe kabab bel karaz. Their sweets as well will blow you away. Onno without a doubt a place to try and have it as your home away from home.
As part of our Marjeyoun Connect activities two of our members Ms. Paty Hachem and Mr. Fayad Jabara were entrusted in organizing a trip to the famous city of Tyre, called Sour for many years by the locals, and boy these two didn't disappoint one bit.
From the start, the trip from Jdeida was smooth with the guidance of Paty we took a totally different route than the one usually buses take. As we drove to our first stop and of course along the road Mr. Hanna Bayoud and our two youngest companions Joe and Chris with Ralph help were great hosts indeed. On our first stop we were welcomed by one of the most friendly and knowledgeable guides Mr. Jihad Mortada, he introduced us to the vast and exciting history of Tyre from being known famously for resisting the invasion of Alexander The Great, still falling short, to the history of the ruins including the hippodrome. After this cultural overview of the city and after passing by the churches we went straight to the Fanar Restaurant for lunch which was arranged by our two event planners Pat and Fayad. As in any trip or event, mishaps happen but still they were silly and minor which could not take from the spirit of the gathering and that connection between us as a marjeyounee community. Great work to all who played an integral part in the success of such an amazing trip. A question that always my friends asked , why old movies matter? Well for a start the well of originality almost empty if not.
